Megathrust earthquakes cause tsunamis that can destroy coastal structures and damage buildings, resulting in injuries deaths. To prevent these consequences reduce the risk of failure structures, it is essential to understand exact mechanism structure failure. Sub-nappe air cavity pressure during overflow a vertical structure, which main topic this research, increase but had not yet been quantified. In hydraulic experiments were conducted reveal relation among pressure, overtopping flowrate, tailwater depth for aerated non-aerated cases. For case, we found almost equal atmospheric regardless flowrate downstream weir height. On other hand, case or partially-aerated inversely proportional flowrate. The between could be interpreted different ways based on flow condition downstream.
